The images on this site are available as museum quality art prints. Signed by the artist, each print is made using state-of-the-art Lightjet laser imaging technology and Fuji Crystal Archive photographic paper. This high-tech yet traditional approach is the color print choice for many museums and galleries today. Archival stability is greatly improved over just a few years ago, and color, tonal range and detail must be seen to be truly appreciated. Prints are made by first obtaining a high-resolution Heidelberg Tango drum scan of the original 4x5 transparency. All image preparation is done by George on a Macintosh workstation. Print sizes range from 16’’x 20’’ up to 48’’x 96’’.

George’s intention with his photography is to stylistically, but faithfully, interpret the wonder of the natural world. No digital compositing is ever done, by adding to or subtracting from, the reality that nature revealed to the camera. In the field, filters are rarely used, and only then to compensate for the limitations of film to record certain high-contrast situations, or to reduce glare.
